"Recon" by Ron Petitt
								In Vietnam, the Marine Recon was considered the elite of an already elite branch of the armed forces.  Their specialized training included airborne, SCUBA, helicopter and small boat insertion, communications and long range patrols. The Marine Recons were some of the earliest US combat forces in Vietnam.  Their missions varied, but were primarily an intelligence gathering  unit used to locate enemy forces and call in air strikes.  Like their SOG counterparts, they responded to provide protection for downed aircrews.  This authentically detailed sculpture is equipped with slant pocket jungle fatigues and boonie cap, CAR-15 rifle, ALICE gear with grenades and ammo pouches, twin canteens, combat knife and jungle boots .
